The clubs behind the costumes
Arizona is home to a vibrant community of Star Wars costuming clubs. We come together to bring the galaxy far, far away to life at conventions, charity events, and community appearances across the state.
The Arizona garrison of the 501st Legion, the world's premier Imperial costuming organization. Members portray villains, Imperials, and dark side characters from the Star Wars universe with screen-accurate costumes at events throughout Arizona.

Arizona's base of the Rebel Legion, the counterpart to the 501st focusing on the heroes of Star Wars. Members costume as Jedi, Rebels, Resistance fighters, and other light side characters for community events and charitable appearances.

Arizona's clan of the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club, dedicated to building and wearing Mandalorian armor from the Star Wars universe. Members create custom Mandalorian characters with unique armor designs and backstories.

Arizona's spire of The Dark Empire, a costuming organization focused on Sith, dark side Force users, and dark side-aligned characters from across the Star Wars saga. Members bring the power of the dark side to events with detailed, screen-accurate costumes.

Arizona's chapter of the droid building community, creating screen-accurate and custom astromech droids, gonk droids, mouse droids, and other Star Wars robots. Members build, program, and operate droids at events to the delight of fans of all ages.

Founded in 2014, Syndicate Saber United combines martial sword traditions with Star Wars lightsaber combat and choreography in a fun, safe atmosphere. Members train at weekly practice sessions, build costumed characters, and bring thrilling lightsaber experiences to conventions and community events across Arizona.

Arizona's school of The Galactic Academy, an independent worldwide Star Wars costuming organization and fan club exclusively for kids and teens ages 0–17. Young fans — called cadets — costume as any Star Wars character, light side or dark side, and participate in community events alongside the adult costuming clubs. Free to join, the Academy gives the next generation of Star Wars fans a place to feel proud and be part of the costuming community.
